Hey interns!
Here are some greetings from Germany: Hallo, Moin Moin, Tach (Just to feel sure you guys don't forget the German language)
It is a long time ago since I wrote about myself on this blog but today is the day. Silke` s back! ;-)
At the moment I am very busy organizing everything for the internship. There's a lot you have to keep in mind: visa, passport, insurance, apartment, credit card (I haven't imagined that you have to fill out so many forms to work in the U.S.A.)
But I can't wait to fly over the ocean. It's less than four months and I am in Detroit! Jiiiiha!
If I am not busy with planning and studying, I like to party! Last month we celebrated the 25th birthday of my sister Renate. In my hometown it is tradition that women get a wreath made out of cigarette packets and men get a wreath out of little bottles. It is said that 25years old ladies are as old as an old cigarette packet that's the whole purpose. That birthday party was a lot of fun, the whole family was there and all her friends but to tidy up the pub the next day was no pleasure.

p.s.: that's my twin sister Anke and me (We are not identical twins and she is older but smaller, that are frequently asked questions)

I saw that you went to school in Papenburg. Perhaps you know the "Ubbo Emmius Gymnasium" in Leer. This was my school. I am a real "East Frisia Girl":-)
BTW (for the autocom team): In northern Germany it is really common to do this tradition Silke described (Everybody is asking me what strange things we do in norhtern germany :-)). In my area we do it, when you are 30 and not married. In the German language we have the expression "package" and "bottle" for old people. It makes no sense when you translate it directly.
