Time to say Goodbye

Only two days left until Don Haberek will leave the AutoCom Team. He was our COO, interns supervisor and the best cake cutter ever! He always had time for the intern's issues and was listening very patiently and carefully to us. Even if he had to repeat his advice a billion times for the foreign interns! But he wasn't only a great interns supervisor. He also gave everbody the oppotunity to gain some weight, when he was cutting perfectly our (nearly weekly ;-)) cake. We really hope, we will find somebody who has the same great technic to cut a cake: 1) Be very gentle to the cake! 2) Use a very sharpe-edged knife, especially our chocolate junky Mareike doesn't want to waste a bit! 3) Be sure that you cut enough pieces. But we think we allready have a new cake cutter. After a long long time Don finally found his twin brother. And accidentally he is working for AutoCom aswell. :-) Who is dressing like Don, must have the same skills! Thanks for everything, we wi ll miss having

Joining the "aunt club"…

Hi "Autocomers", I don't really have to tell a lot of new stuff out of my life, right now. I'm still working on my thesis (which is almost done) and studying for my exams. That's about it. It has been a lot of stress the last weeks and I'm really looking forward to finishing University. But on the 11th of June I became an aunt. My sister got her little son "Luca" now. And I am the proudest aunt ever on earth. :-) He is 21.26 inch tall and weighs 8.09 pounds. So far he is doing ok, he has got an infection and has to be in the children's hospital for a while to make sure he is ok. Here you got a picture of that little one day old baby. Isn't he cute? So that's the most beautiful thing happening in my life and I still can't believe it. Hope you are all doing alright! Take care, Bianca

Yet Another German

Hello everybody, After some hesitation in writing this I finally fought myself to do it. I am yet another German here at AutoCom. My name is Manuel and I am a student of International Politics and History at Jacobs University Bremen in northern Germany. I will be joining AutoCom for the next two months. Prior to this internship, which is part of my studies in Bremen I have been active in the Rotaract Club, the Youth Organisation of Rotary International, as well as Debating and Model United Nations conferences. This is my second day at AutoCom and from what I can tell and what I experienced u p until now I am very much looking forward for working here in Bloomfield Hills. The first few days in Detroit area have been very much relaxed and after acclimating here and finishing all the necessary paperwork I am all set now. Mareike and Nicky welcomed me with some nice dinner at a Thai place and have been of great help in showing me where to get my cell phone contract, social security number
I can't believe it but in only 15 days and I will fly to U.S and in 3 weeks I will start my internship. Time was passing so fast during the last weeks. There are still many things I have to organize before my departure. The most important is to say Good Bye to all of my friends ;-) But first let me introduce myself. My name is Christina and I am 32 years. At the moment I am still working in the office of my parents. We have a family business, i.e. we sell and repair cars and motorbikes of the brands Mercedes Benz, Mazda, Yamaha, Ktm, Piaggio (Vespa),... The company exists of two establishments and embloys about 60 employees. But it's time to learn new things and to take a look at the rest of the world. So I am very much looking forward to the internship and to get to know you. With some of you I am already in contact and I am very grateful for your help - especially Nicky and Mareike. I am really curious what is expecting me. I send you greetings from Austria. (It's the sma
