Art is all around…

Last weekend was dedicated to the arts! It started off with the Automotive Recycled Technology Art Exhibition at Behr America on Friday afternoon. Art students from Wayne State University created artworks out of recycled automotive parts provided by Behr America. They did a wonderful job, although I couldn’t always tell what the exhibits were supposed to demonstrate. But I guess that just shows my ignorance regarding art! The work I liked best was a shelf with several tubes upon it. The glasses were filled with a yellow automotive fluid and automotive parts. It looked awesome!

On Saturday, I exercised the art of successful shopping followed by watching the movie “Burn after Reading” - a high quality movie directed by the Coen Brothers. Truth to be told, I only wanted to watch it because of George Clooney and Brad Pitt!

My weekend ended with seeing the Birmingham-Bloomfield Symphony Orchestra (BBSO) live in concert! Up until then I wasn’t a big fan of classical music, but this all changed on Sunday evening. The sound was terrific and the location (a synagogue in Bloomfield Hills) just beautiful! Go and check them out http://www.bbso.org/!

I'm glad to hear it was a success. What a shame, I couldn't attend, I would have loved to see how it turned out and what the students created with the parts. A year ago, I started planning the event together with Jan and it was great.

A New Year, a New Intern

Hi everybody, My name is Véronique and I am happy to say that I will be one of the new interns at AutoCom beginning on March 19. I am a 21 year old student from Germany. The internship is part of my International Business & Management degree that I am working on at the Hanze University in Groningen, Netherlands. I am currently in my third year at Hanze University and the previous semester I studied abroad at a partner university in Macau, China, where I took courses related to my marketing major. I am very excited to start my second stay abroad in a few weeks and I hope that I will gain a lot of professional experience and get to know the area of public relations while working at AutoCom. I also love traveling, so I hope I will be able to see as much of the U.S. as possible, especially since it is my first stay there. It feels good to be home!

After completing my third year at Northern Michigan University in the Upper Peninsula, it feels good to be back home and in the office again. Larry was very gracious in allowing me to come back to AutoCom. For those of you that do not know me, my name is Tedi Falvo. Last summer I did an internship with AutoCom, and learned a lot about public relations outside of the classroom. Books can only teach you so much- the real learning comes when you go out on your own and put everything you have learned to the test. Last summer was a great experience, and I was thankful to work with such a great staff that was willing to help me succeed. While I was in Marquette, Mich. continuing my studies in public relations, and sociology, I remained in contact with AutoCom.
