My first trip to Detroit!

Hi everybody,

I am the new intern at AutoCom Associates and I just would like to introduce myself on the AutoCom Intern Blog.

My name is Annika and I am 23 years old. I study business administration with a major in marketing, psychology and human resources at Justus Liebig University in Giessen. Originally I come from Paderborn. Last summer I did an internship at one of AutoComs customers: Hella KG Hueck & Co.

In August Larry invited me to an interview in Frankfurt and two weeks later I was offered an internship. I am sure you can imagine how glad I was when I read this e-mail. Thank you for giving me this great opportunity!

This is my first visit to the United States. Before I arrived in Detroit I saw movies like 8 Mile etc. and I expected to see lots of dangerous people. But of course I don’t!
Instead I met very nice and helpful persons. This is one thing I really like in the US. People keep in touch and care about each other.

I spent my first day applying for my social security card, opening my bank account and buying a cell phone. Miriam helped me with that (Thank you so much for all your efforts!!!). At the weekend I met a few interns from Germany and my housemates showed me Downtown Detroit. There I could see the wonderful skyline from Detroit and Canada.

Today is my first day at AutoCom and I am looking forward to learn a lot about public relations.

Hi Annika,
I'm sorry that now 2009 will be the first year where I will not join SAE - but i hope we will meet sooner or later anyway.
Enjoy your time at my friends at Autocom. You certainly will learn and experience a lot, and you said it already: Detroit and Michigan are great places to be!

I won’t be an intern anymore. :)

Hi everybody! There is news again from my life. You know, I am a person who never stops doing something. Either I travel almost every weekend (like I did in the States) or I am looking for new challenges all the time. :-) Well, my internship in Munich as a marketing consulting intern is not too bad, but I have finished University…so what I want is a real job and not an internship. (The only internship I would love to do, even after I graduated, is the one I already did with AutoCom). :) So I continued applying for jobs. I restricted the area to Bavaria for the first applications, because I love that part of Germany. I love the Bavarian dialect (it is so cute and sexy the same time). I love their “Brezn” and their white sausages. And here is the news: I will start on the 26th of November as an employee at Novartis. Novartis is a huge German pharmaceutical company. About Cologne, Cars and Trees… - Update from the other Side of the Lake

Hi or as we would say in Franconia "Servus", a couple of months have passed since I started my internship at AutoCom and even though I cannot share something about the amazing sites within and around Detroit, I can still give you an update on what is happening. Philipp has joined us two months ago and we two are currently working on the Social Media Appearance of AutoCom. Even as "digital nomads" we encounter challenges and still have a lot to learn. However, it is great just to create new things from scratch or nearly immediately see a result when sharing a story or creating a post. Hi everyone, My name is Sarah Heuser. I’m 23 years old and from a small town near Cologne, Germany. I just finished my master’s in Journalism and Corporate Communications at the University of Applied Sciences in Wuerzburg. Even though I have a bachelor’s degree in Media and American Studies, I have never been to the US before. That’s why I really wanted to do an internship here so I could see what life and work is like.
