New Year’s Eve & NAIAS Detroit

Since this is our first entry in 2017 we wish you all a happy New Year!

We spent the NYE weekend in Canada with some of our friends where we visited Niagara Falls and Toronto. On Friday night after we arrived, we watched the huge fireworks display at the falls that happens weekly at 9 pm.
Our host at our Airbnb was a massive fan of Elvis Presley; therefore he was dressed like him and decorated his home with stuff accordingly.

On Saturday we continued our trip to Toronto where we celebrated NYE. Funnily, on that night there were no fireworks in comparison to the night before at Niagara Falls.
The next day we took the boat to Toronto Island where you have an incredible view on the city.

It was a great weekend to conclude the year. Now we’re looking forward to what 2017 will bring us.😉

The annual North American International Auto Show started last Monday (1/9/17), which is a major event here.
The day before, we were invited to a backgrounder brunch by Nissan where the new model 2017 NISSAN ROGUE® SPORT was introduced.
Afterward, we picked up our press passes at COBO Center for the upcoming show that would start later that afternoon or rather the day after. While everything got prepared in the background, we sat in the press conference for Disney Pixar and saw the trailer of its new movie “Cars 3” that will be released this summer.

Lisa went to the first press preview day on Monday to take some photos with our co-worker for one of our clients.
In the evening we went to another nice dinner event hosted by Hyundai in downtown Detroit. It was again very interesting; we met a lot of media people there.

Kim attended the show last Wednesday on the first day of industry preview where various automakers showcased their vehicles.

It’s been a couple of exciting weeks this year so far - we are glad to have the chance to visit the show during press and industry preview days before it opens to the public.

About Cologne, Cars and Trees… - Update from the other Side of the Lake

Hi or as we would say in Franconia "Servus", a couple of months have passed since I started my internship at AutoCom and even though I cannot share something about the amazing sites within and around Detroit, I can still give you an update on what is happening.  Philipp has joined us two months ago and we two are currently working on the Social Media Appearance of AutoCom. Even as "digital nomads" we encounter challenges and still have a lot to learn. However, it is great just to create new things from scratch or nearly immediately see a result when sharing a story or creating a post.  But enough of work… About Cologne Larry and the others offered me to go to Cologne to attend a meeting with a client and I - of course - couldn't resist and decided to stay even a bit longer. It was a nice trip with splendid late summer weather and I was able to take a lot of images - at least until my battery died.  About cars Since some of my initial projects were crushed by th...

A New Year, a New Intern

Hi everybody, My name is Véronique and I am happy to say that I will be one of the new interns at AutoCom beginning on March 19. I am a 21 year old student from Germany. The internship is part of my International Business & Management degree that I am working on at the Hanze University in Groningen, Netherlands. I am currently in my third year at Hanze University and the previous semester I studied abroad at a partner university in Macau, China, where I took courses related to my marketing major. I am very excited to start my second stay abroad in a few weeks and I hope that I will gain a lot of professional experience and get to know the area of public relations while working at AutoCom. I also love traveling, so I hope I will be able to see as much of the U.S. as possible, especially since it is my first stay there. It has always been a dream of mine to visit the U.S. and now being able to learn the entire culture and industry by actually living there is a huge bonus. Right now I...

It feels good to be home!

After completing my third year at Northern Michigan University in the Upper Peninsula, it feels good to be back home and in the office again. Larry was very gracious in allowing me to come back to AutoCom. For those of you that do not know me, my name is Tedi Falvo. Last summer I did an internship with AutoCom, and learned a lot about public relations outside of the classroom. Books can only teach you so much- the real learning comes when you go out on your own and put everything you have learned to the test. Last summer was a great experience, and I was thankful to work with such a great staff that was willing to help me succeed. While I was in Marquette, Mich. continuing my studies in public relations, and sociology, I remained in contact with AutoCom. When I had a question regarding an aspect of my studies, I always knew where to turn! It is nice to have wonderful people surrounding and filling you with all of their knowledge. That is one aspect I love about working here-everyone wo...
