In the Summertime...

The thermometers have settled beyond the 70° mark, the air conditioning systems are running full force, the sun is a permanent part of the day and sounds of people mowing their lawns are ruling the area. Brace yourselves people, because Michigan Summer is on the way!
This does not only mean that you might encounter slightly red faces or spend a great part of your free time in back yards or at lakes, but it’s also time again for AutoCom’s annual Tech Crawl.
On June 19, 2012 the day has come for the 10th time to get together with a couple of our clients and automotive journalists for a fun day of technology presentations, vehicle displays and social activities. This year, Tech Crawl will be held in Detroit and will include several venues that we will travel to by taking the Detroit People Mover. As a conclusion to the informative day, we will watch the baseball game between the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals at Comerica Park.
The 10th anniversary of Tech Crawl is surely a reason to stop for a moment and look back on the event’s past. Unfortunately I was not part of previous Tech Crawls but I hear we had full-day events, half-day events, boat cruises, wine tastings, limousine rides, golf outings and of course many interesting and telling presentations from the sponsoring companies.
Tech Crawl being a great opportunity for our clients to get in front of a respectable number of industry journalists is at the same time a big chance for me and the other interns to get hands-on experience with clients, media and event management. It is a great pleasure for me to play a major role in the organization of the event this summer and I am very looking forward to execute everything we have been planning during the last weeks.

The days are numbered!

So long!

Véronique

About Cologne, Cars and Trees… - Update from the other Side of the Lake

Hi or as we would say in Franconia "Servus", a couple of months have passed since I started my internship at AutoCom and even though I cannot share something about the amazing sites within and around Detroit, I can still give you an update on what is happening.  Philipp has joined us two months ago and we two are currently working on the Social Media Appearance of AutoCom. Even as "digital nomads" we encounter challenges and still have a lot to learn. However, it is great just to create new things from scratch or nearly immediately see a result when sharing a story or creating a post.  But enough of work… About Cologne Larry and the others offered me to go to Cologne to attend a meeting with a client and I - of course - couldn't resist and decided to stay even a bit longer. It was a nice trip with splendid late summer weather and I was able to take a lot of images - at least until my battery died.  About cars Since some of my initial projects were crushed by th...

I won’t be an intern anymore. :)

Hi everybody! There is news again from my life. You know, I am a person who never stops doing something. Either I travel almost every weekend (like I did in the States) or I am looking for new challenges all the time. :-) Well, my internship in Munich as a marketing consulting intern is not too bad, but I have finished University…so what I want is a real job and not an internship. (The only internship I would love to do, even after I graduated, is the one I already did with AutoCom). :) So I continued applying for jobs. I restricted the area to Bavaria for the first applications, because I love that part of Germany. I love the Bavarian dialect (it is so cute and sexy the same time). I love their “Brezn” and their white sausages. And here is the news: I will start on the 26th of November as an employee at Novartis. Novartis is a huge German pharmaceutical company. I will work there for the strategic sourcing marketing. So I will be the one choosing agencies, advertising materials and so...
Hi everyone, My name is Sarah Heuser. I’m 23 years old and from a small town near Cologne, Germany. I just finished my master’s in Journalism and Corporate Communications at the University of Applied Sciences in Wuerzburg. Even though I have a bachelor’s degree in Media and American Studies, I have never been to the US before. That’s why I really wanted to do an internship here so I could see what life and work is like. Rebecca and Julian, the other AutoCom interns, picked me up from the airport last Saturday and my new roommates and some of their friends were already waiting for me. We are all living in Royal Oak, but I’m in a different house than the other AutoCom interns. They are currently taking me to work as I am still figuring out details regarding my car. Last week, which was also my first week at work, was the 4 th of July holiday. That’s why I joined Rebecca, Julian and other interns on a trip to New York. We drove over ten hours but it was worth it: the city is impr...
