Tech Crawl 2016

Hi everyone,

Yesterday was our long-time anticipated event Tech Crawl. We organized and planned so much the last couple of weeks: managing invitations, ordering promo items, preparing press kit folders and flash drives, setting up the location and much more. But eventually, the whole event went by so fast.

Early in the morning, we took care of the last preparations at our office before heading over to The Stand in Birmingham. We set up our two locations, The Stand for lunch and afterglow as well as the Birmingham 8 Theater for presentations and press briefings. Clients and media representatives arrived around 11.30 a.m. Most of them mingled in the display room to see the clients’ exhibits while socializing and networking.

Our second stop of Tech Crawl 2016 was the Birmingham 8 Theater – just a short walk from The Stand. Kiekert kicked off the media briefings followed by INFICON, Eview 360, HELLA and MAHLE. Additionally, Alcantara showed a company introduction video.

The last item on our agenda was the afterglow back at The Stand. Chef Paul Grosz demonstrated how to butcher a pig and properly use the different parts. Nearly everyone was fascinated, took pictures and was eager to learn more. Nevertheless, appetizers and a special selection of delicious cocktails were enjoyed all night long. The whole day of Tech Crawl was a huge success!

About Cologne, Cars and Trees… - Update from the other Side of the Lake

Hi or as we would say in Franconia "Servus", a couple of months have passed since I started my internship at AutoCom and even though I cannot share something about the amazing sites within and around Detroit, I can still give you an update on what is happening.  Philipp has joined us two months ago and we two are currently working on the Social Media Appearance of AutoCom. Even as "digital nomads" we encounter challenges and still have a lot to learn. However, it is great just to create new things from scratch or nearly immediately see a result when sharing a story or creating a post.  But enough of work… About Cologne Larry and the others offered me to go to Cologne to attend a meeting with a client and I - of course - couldn't resist and decided to stay even a bit longer. It was a nice trip with splendid late summer weather and I was able to take a lot of images - at least until my battery died.  About cars Since some of my initial projects were crushed by th...

I won’t be an intern anymore. :)

Hi everybody! There is news again from my life. You know, I am a person who never stops doing something. Either I travel almost every weekend (like I did in the States) or I am looking for new challenges all the time. :-) Well, my internship in Munich as a marketing consulting intern is not too bad, but I have finished University…so what I want is a real job and not an internship. (The only internship I would love to do, even after I graduated, is the one I already did with AutoCom). :) So I continued applying for jobs. I restricted the area to Bavaria for the first applications, because I love that part of Germany. I love the Bavarian dialect (it is so cute and sexy the same time). I love their “Brezn” and their white sausages. And here is the news: I will start on the 26th of November as an employee at Novartis. Novartis is a huge German pharmaceutical company. I will work there for the strategic sourcing marketing. So I will be the one choosing agencies, advertising materials and so...
Hi everyone, My name is Sarah Heuser. I’m 23 years old and from a small town near Cologne, Germany. I just finished my master’s in Journalism and Corporate Communications at the University of Applied Sciences in Wuerzburg. Even though I have a bachelor’s degree in Media and American Studies, I have never been to the US before. That’s why I really wanted to do an internship here so I could see what life and work is like. Rebecca and Julian, the other AutoCom interns, picked me up from the airport last Saturday and my new roommates and some of their friends were already waiting for me. We are all living in Royal Oak, but I’m in a different house than the other AutoCom interns. They are currently taking me to work as I am still figuring out details regarding my car. Last week, which was also my first week at work, was the 4 th of July holiday. That’s why I joined Rebecca, Julian and other interns on a trip to New York. We drove over ten hours but it was worth it: the city is impr...
