….It was summer time in Northern – Michigan!

… It was summer time in Northern Michigan!
Hello again!
As Niko and Merle are already gone, it is quite empty and quiet in the AutoCom office… I hope both of them had a relaxing flight and arrived safely back home. I wish Niko all the best for his future and an amazing road trip across California. Do not forget to share some pictures with us!!! Fortunately, Merle is still part of our team, and I am so happy that I can carry on and bother her with lots of questions!

Since I spent the last two weekends relaxing in Royal Oak and visiting the great malls nearby, it was time to discover other places in the USA.  As the leaves are already changing colors, my friend Sarah and I decided to catch the last shafts of sunlight in the North of Michigan.

After an exhausting five-hour drive, we finally arrived at our first attraction – The “Sleeping Bear Dune.”  Surprisingly instead of a hiking trail, one discovered the national park by car. We were very impressed by the overlook we had from the platforms. As we had wonderful weather, the blue sky was reflected by the clear water, and you were able to recognize the different water levels by the diverse shades of blue.
After we climbed the dunes we visited the restored village of Glen Haven. There we found a blacksmith shop, where we had the opportunity to see how iron was heated and forged into a dinner bell. After spending some time on the beach, we left heading toward Traverse
City. On the way we stopped by at a little farmer’s shop where we bought some delicious apples and sweet snacks and had a nice dinner at a lovely diner next to it.
When we arrived in Traverse City the sun was already going down. We had a walk on the beautiful harbor and through downtown.  Since it was such a wonderful( but also long) day, both of us were happy to have some rest in the hostel that  we just booked on a short-run.

After we woke up and had breakfast, we went on our way home and stopped by at a really big outlet shopping mall where, out of the blue,  spent the rest of our day and made some great deals. Exhausted but happy and with many amazing impressions, I passed the city sign of Royal Oak in the evening and could not believe that another weekend was already gone.
I will keep you posted about my next Michigan-adventures. I am also looking forward to introducing  you to a new intern soon.

The harbor is amazing! Thanks for sharing your happiness. Michigan is my favorite place. I like watching the sun rising in the morning and making it so shining and warm.

Time to say Goodbye

Only two days left until Don Haberek will leave the AutoCom Team. He was our COO, interns supervisor and the best cake cutter ever! He always had time for the intern's issues and was listening very patiently and carefully to us. Even if he had to repeat his advice a billion times for the foreign interns! But he wasn't only a great interns supervisor. He also gave everbody the oppotunity to gain some weight, when he was cutting perfectly our (nearly weekly ;-)) cake. We really hope, we will find somebody who has the same great technic to cut a cake: 1) Be very gentle to the cake! 2) Use a very sharpe-edged knife, especially our chocolate junky Mareike doesn't want to waste a bit! 3) Be sure that you cut enough pieces. But we think we allready have a new cake cutter. After a long long time Don finally found his twin brother. And accidentally he is working for AutoCom aswell. :-) Who is dressing like Don, must have the same skills! Thanks for everything, we wi ll miss having...

I won’t be an intern anymore. :)

Hi everybody! There is news again from my life. You know, I am a person who never stops doing something. Either I travel almost every weekend (like I did in the States) or I am looking for new challenges all the time. :-) Well, my internship in Munich as a marketing consulting intern is not too bad, but I have finished University…so what I want is a real job and not an internship. (The only internship I would love to do, even after I graduated, is the one I already did with AutoCom). :) So I continued applying for jobs. I restricted the area to Bavaria for the first applications, because I love that part of Germany. I love the Bavarian dialect (it is so cute and sexy the same time). I love their “Brezn” and their white sausages. And here is the news: I will start on the 26th of November as an employee at Novartis. Novartis is a huge German pharmaceutical company. I will work there for the strategic sourcing marketing. So I will be the one choosing agencies, advertising materials and so...

Tara, Earl of Drunwitch

The common stereotypes against British people are: - they always drink tea & eat Fish&Chips - on vacations they always get sunburned, because the sun never shines in England - their humor is dry and sometimes a little bit strange. After a few weeks with our intern Graham from Swansea I don't agree with any of these stereotypes. I now believe that British people always drink energy drinks with strange pictures on it, they can never get sunburned because they are always wearing nice "whistles" and big American hats and their humor is everything but strange... To be honest... German humor, which means Nicky's and my humor ("The funny German girls" ©) is nearly the same...! To score some brownie points at the beginning of his time at AutoCom he brought the new Aquada to the office. And who wants David Hasselhoff and K.I.T.T. when you can have the Earl of Drunwitch and the Aquada? A nice sport car and you only have to push one button and it will be bo...
