New York City

New York is one of the cities we have always wanted to get to know, since it is one of the most famous in the world.
We were really excited when we started our trip to the airport, very early on Friday morning.
When we finally arrived in New York  we checked-in to the hotel very early , so that we still had the whole day to explore the huge city and all it had to offer.

Our hotel was in a nice neighborhood and really close to many famous places. This gave us the possibility to walk almost everywhere all weekend long. That was also how we started that Friday morning, getting to know probably one of the most famous spots in all of New York we took the 10 minutes’ walk to ‘Times Square’.

Fascinated by that amazing place, we got even more excited getting to know the City a lot more to offer.

Eating some chocolate in the famous M&M’s and Hersey’s stores we had new energy to become acquainted with the ice skating rink at Bryant Park and to visit the theaters on Broadway as well.

But the real highlight of that day was seeing one of the biggest Christmas trees in the world located next to the Rockefeller Center.  Not only is that tree is a must see in the winter time, but also the wonderful ice skating rink in front of the Rockefeller Center is a wonderful attraction as well.

With all those memories we started the next day with a nice American breakfast before taking the Metro and Staten Island Ferry to the statue of Liberty.
The financial district is very close to the statue so we could take advantage of that and walked through that area in the direction of Ground Zero, where the World Trade Center stood and nowadays a large memorial can be found.

After that nice winter walk, there was still some time left to get to know Chinatown and Little Italy, where of course we needed to try and snack on some typical food. It was amazing to see how much Christmas seemed to be literarily around everywhere in this amazing city…
The next morning was reserved for Central Park. We thought we were aware of the enormous park’s size, but after already spending the entire morning walking through Central Park, we were more and more impressed than we expected  to be regarding the nature and the size of the park. It finally took us more than a couple of hours to explore a little part of the park and there are still so many places we didn’t see at all. A nice winter market gave us the opportunity to grab something to eat.

Our next goal was to see was the Brooklyn Bridge which we couldn’t leave off of our list of things to see. Seeing the sunset with New York’s skyline in the background was an amazing and unexpected view, and a nice ending to a wonderful Sunday.

The next day, which was our last, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to buy some souvenirs of course and pass by Times Square once more in the morning.
After that we really wanted to see Grand Central Station, which with more than 44 platforms is the largest train station in the world and really impressive.
The Cathedral of St. Patrick was, as well as Radio City Hall, a place we wanted to see before we had to say goodbye to an amazing weekend in New York City!

About Cologne, Cars and Trees… - Update from the other Side of the Lake

Hi or as we would say in Franconia "Servus", a couple of months have passed since I started my internship at AutoCom and even though I cannot share something about the amazing sites within and around Detroit, I can still give you an update on what is happening.  Philipp has joined us two months ago and we two are currently working on the Social Media Appearance of AutoCom. Even as "digital nomads" we encounter challenges and still have a lot to learn. However, it is great just to create new things from scratch or nearly immediately see a result when sharing a story or creating a post.  But enough of work… About Cologne Larry and the others offered me to go to Cologne to attend a meeting with a client and I - of course - couldn't resist and decided to stay even a bit longer. It was a nice trip with splendid late summer weather and I was able to take a lot of images - at least until my battery died.  About cars Since some of my initial projects were crushed by th...

It feels good to be home!

After completing my third year at Northern Michigan University in the Upper Peninsula, it feels good to be back home and in the office again. Larry was very gracious in allowing me to come back to AutoCom. For those of you that do not know me, my name is Tedi Falvo. Last summer I did an internship with AutoCom, and learned a lot about public relations outside of the classroom. Books can only teach you so much- the real learning comes when you go out on your own and put everything you have learned to the test. Last summer was a great experience, and I was thankful to work with such a great staff that was willing to help me succeed. While I was in Marquette, Mich. continuing my studies in public relations, and sociology, I remained in contact with AutoCom. When I had a question regarding an aspect of my studies, I always knew where to turn! It is nice to have wonderful people surrounding and filling you with all of their knowledge. That is one aspect I love about working here-everyone wo...

A New Year, a New Intern

Hi everybody, My name is Véronique and I am happy to say that I will be one of the new interns at AutoCom beginning on March 19. I am a 21 year old student from Germany. The internship is part of my International Business & Management degree that I am working on at the Hanze University in Groningen, Netherlands. I am currently in my third year at Hanze University and the previous semester I studied abroad at a partner university in Macau, China, where I took courses related to my marketing major. I am very excited to start my second stay abroad in a few weeks and I hope that I will gain a lot of professional experience and get to know the area of public relations while working at AutoCom. I also love traveling, so I hope I will be able to see as much of the U.S. as possible, especially since it is my first stay there. It has always been a dream of mine to visit the U.S. and now being able to learn the entire culture and industry by actually living there is a huge bonus. Right now I...
