Hi everybody,

Unbelievable how fast time passes by: this year it is 6 years ago that I have been working as an intern at AutoCom. It has been a great experience and was the start of my professional development in the Automotive Industry. After I finished my studies in Passau, Germany, I started working in Barcelona, Spain, for SEAT. I did the Traineeprogramm at the Communications Department and afterwards worked in International Product Communications. I had a wonderful time in Spain, learned a lot and made some valuable experiences that I will never forget. "Spain is different" and so it is to work over there. I discovered my "german side" and decided that I needed to go back to my country in order to grow further. And there was also another reason for me wanting to get back to Germany: my boyfriend Matthias who I met in Spain and who lived and worked in Nuremberg. After 3 years in Spain and almost 2.5 years of a long distance relationship, I finally got back to Germany in January 2007. I started at Audi AG in Ingolstadt, where I am doing the same job I have been doing at SEAT - working at International Product Communications. It is a great job and I am very fortunate that everything worked out so well.
And another positive thing is that I get to meet Larry every now and then at the International Motor Shows! ;o) I am sending best wishes from Germany to the whole team at AutoCom and hope I get a chance to visit you one day again!!

... Maybe during the NAIAS...you never know :-))

Hi Petra,

How long have you been working for AutoCom?

I've just arrived from Austria and will stay for one year. Seems to be a real good experience for the later positions ;-)

So, I wish you all the best for your future.

Hi Petra,

I can't believe it's been that long since you were here! I remember that you and Anna were two of the earlier interns that we had here and both of you were always great to work with. I'm glad that you're doing well in life and love!

Take care and keep on blogging!

About Cologne, Cars and Trees… - Update from the other Side of the Lake

Hi or as we would say in Franconia "Servus", a couple of months have passed since I started my internship at AutoCom and even though I cannot share something about the amazing sites within and around Detroit, I can still give you an update on what is happening.  Philipp has joined us two months ago and we two are currently working on the Social Media Appearance of AutoCom. Even as "digital nomads" we encounter challenges and still have a lot to learn. However, it is great just to create new things from scratch or nearly immediately see a result when sharing a story or creating a post.  But enough of work… About Cologne Larry and the others offered me to go to Cologne to attend a meeting with a client and I - of course - couldn't resist and decided to stay even a bit longer. It was a nice trip with splendid late summer weather and I was able to take a lot of images - at least until my battery died.  About cars Since some of my initial projects were crushed by th...

I won’t be an intern anymore. :)

Hi everybody! There is news again from my life. You know, I am a person who never stops doing something. Either I travel almost every weekend (like I did in the States) or I am looking for new challenges all the time. :-) Well, my internship in Munich as a marketing consulting intern is not too bad, but I have finished University…so what I want is a real job and not an internship. (The only internship I would love to do, even after I graduated, is the one I already did with AutoCom). :) So I continued applying for jobs. I restricted the area to Bavaria for the first applications, because I love that part of Germany. I love the Bavarian dialect (it is so cute and sexy the same time). I love their “Brezn” and their white sausages. And here is the news: I will start on the 26th of November as an employee at Novartis. Novartis is a huge German pharmaceutical company. I will work there for the strategic sourcing marketing. So I will be the one choosing agencies, advertising materials and so...
Hi everyone, My name is Sarah Heuser. I’m 23 years old and from a small town near Cologne, Germany. I just finished my master’s in Journalism and Corporate Communications at the University of Applied Sciences in Wuerzburg. Even though I have a bachelor’s degree in Media and American Studies, I have never been to the US before. That’s why I really wanted to do an internship here so I could see what life and work is like. Rebecca and Julian, the other AutoCom interns, picked me up from the airport last Saturday and my new roommates and some of their friends were already waiting for me. We are all living in Royal Oak, but I’m in a different house than the other AutoCom interns. They are currently taking me to work as I am still figuring out details regarding my car. Last week, which was also my first week at work, was the 4 th of July holiday. That’s why I joined Rebecca, Julian and other interns on a trip to New York. We drove over ten hours but it was worth it: the city is impr...
