Hi to all of you,
My name is Christoph and I am a
22-year-old student living in Germany where I am pursuing a bachelor's degree
in International Business at the University of Applied Science Georg Simon Ohm in Nuremberg.
First of all, I have to agree that it was tough for me to create this
article.
I looked at articles of former interns and realized that many of them
wrote about the first days in the US and how it was like, to be a stranger in a
strange land.
For me, this is quite different. Even if I currently have had my first
days at AutoCom, I am not physically in the US.
I am working in Germany. No first drive to work. No first typically
American dish. No cultural clashes. And most sadly, no possibility of seeing my
colleagues and roommates. Instead it is working from home (mostly while sitting
in the garden), eating the same food, and already knowing the way to work
(shouldn’t be that hard at least).
Even though I cannot be in the US right now, I have already some plans
for my stay in Detroit. I love photography and I hope that the city will help
me to improve my skills in making some street art images. Moreover, I was told
how rich Detroit is regarding music and I am burning in to explore that scene. I also intend to tour
around the Great Lakes and might take one or two trips to Chicago as well.
I am even more excited than before even if I don’t know how exactly my internship will look
like. But, let’s find out!
Last but not least, I would like to thank Ramona for the great help that
enables me to have the best start possible.
Thank you!
Chris
