Hi everyone,

It’s been over seven weeks since I arrived in the US and started my internship at AutoCom Associates. I already have experienced so many unique moments which I will never forget.
In the past few weeks, I was able to go to Columbus, Ohio for a short weekend trip to see Glass Animals, a British Indie-band, as well as to visit the Ohio State University. To experience an American university campus was such an experience since the campus is way bigger than a university would be in Germany or the UK.

Moreover, I was in Detroit Downtown while the Detroit Marathon was happening to cheer on some running friends I’ve made within the Royal Oak Runners Group. Detroit is even nicer with no cars on the streets and the spirit was awesome and inspiring.

Detroit has so much to offer. Milky Chance, a German Band, was playing at the Fillmore in Downtown Detroit. Since I am a native German who loves their music, I needed to see them and to support their North American Tour. The concert was such a nice experience and the Fillmore is the perfect location for a concert like that.

Skyline of New York City
On a weekend in October I went to New York to meet up with my brother who was on vacation there. I’ve got to see all the sights you need to see in New York again, since it was my second time in New York. I also watched my first American football game, which was quite an experience. Tailgate parties don’t exist in Germany and that was something completely new for me and fun to watch. The same for the game. My brother needed to explain quite a lot to me before I had any clue of what was going on on that field. But after some time, I kinda got a feeling for what was happening.

So, my first two months in Michigan have been quite busy and full of travelling. Now I am excited for the falling leaves and the upcoming Christmas time which is quite soon.

About Cologne, Cars and Trees… - Update from the other Side of the Lake

Hi or as we would say in Franconia "Servus", a couple of months have passed since I started my internship at AutoCom and even though I cannot share something about the amazing sites within and around Detroit, I can still give you an update on what is happening.  Philipp has joined us two months ago and we two are currently working on the Social Media Appearance of AutoCom. Even as "digital nomads" we encounter challenges and still have a lot to learn. However, it is great just to create new things from scratch or nearly immediately see a result when sharing a story or creating a post.  But enough of work… About Cologne Larry and the others offered me to go to Cologne to attend a meeting with a client and I - of course - couldn't resist and decided to stay even a bit longer. It was a nice trip with splendid late summer weather and I was able to take a lot of images - at least until my battery died.  About cars Since some of my initial projects were crushed by th...

I won’t be an intern anymore. :)

Hi everybody! There is news again from my life. You know, I am a person who never stops doing something. Either I travel almost every weekend (like I did in the States) or I am looking for new challenges all the time. :-) Well, my internship in Munich as a marketing consulting intern is not too bad, but I have finished University…so what I want is a real job and not an internship. (The only internship I would love to do, even after I graduated, is the one I already did with AutoCom). :) So I continued applying for jobs. I restricted the area to Bavaria for the first applications, because I love that part of Germany. I love the Bavarian dialect (it is so cute and sexy the same time). I love their “Brezn” and their white sausages. And here is the news: I will start on the 26th of November as an employee at Novartis. Novartis is a huge German pharmaceutical company. I will work there for the strategic sourcing marketing. So I will be the one choosing agencies, advertising materials and so...
Hi everyone, My name is Sarah Heuser. I’m 23 years old and from a small town near Cologne, Germany. I just finished my master’s in Journalism and Corporate Communications at the University of Applied Sciences in Wuerzburg. Even though I have a bachelor’s degree in Media and American Studies, I have never been to the US before. That’s why I really wanted to do an internship here so I could see what life and work is like. Rebecca and Julian, the other AutoCom interns, picked me up from the airport last Saturday and my new roommates and some of their friends were already waiting for me. We are all living in Royal Oak, but I’m in a different house than the other AutoCom interns. They are currently taking me to work as I am still figuring out details regarding my car. Last week, which was also my first week at work, was the 4 th of July holiday. That’s why I joined Rebecca, Julian and other interns on a trip to New York. We drove over ten hours but it was worth it: the city is impr...
